NEWYORK, NEWYORK -- What you are about to view is a 3D animation reenactment of the takeoff and crash of US Airways Flight 1549 with 155 souls onboard, piloted by Capt. Chesley Sullenberger. This A320 airbus left New York’s LaGuardia airport enroute to Charlotte, NC when it encountered a bird strike while climbing altitude and was airborne for only about three minutes.

US Airways Flight 1549 cleared the George Washington Bridge by a mere 900 feet before it descended and landed in the Hudson River. The expert piloting of this aircraft and the heroism of Capt. Sullenberger resulted in all lives being saved.
