Dan’s Personal Blog — Status Update

WEAVERVILLE, NC – I decided a couple of days ago to start writing blogs on a somewhat daily basis–maybe three or four times per week rather than every day depending on the amount of time I have to spend on writing a personal blog and if I have anything to write about. I will continue to write other blog articles of a more serious nature and link them to the features on the homepage, but I thought it would be good to give my readers what they want, which is a blog feature that is geared more toward a personal slant for me rather than one which represents world events, newsworthy items, or that deal with other than personal issues.

At the moment, however, I’m struggling on a name to give my Personal Blog. I just can’t seem to find an appropriate name for the personal blog that I like. I had considered the title: On a Personal Level, but somehow that name just doesn’t ring my chimes, if you know what I mean.

Therefore, I am asking my readers to come up with a name that they think I should use to attach to my personal blogs feature. This name will be at the head of every personal blog post that I write and will be the featured title replacing Dan’s Personal Blog in Feature 4 on the homepage and replacing the word Blog in the image associated with this feature.

Whoever gives me a name that I like the most will receive credit for providing the new name and will have their username displayed on the Feature Page itself.

So, please think of some catchy names that I can use. They don’t have to be one-word names, but can be phrases as well. For example, a very good personal blog name that is being used by a dear friend of mine for her own blogsite is: Words Between Us. I can’t use that name because that would be plagiarism or stealing. Please submit your suggestions as comments to this post.

I’ll wait a few days to see if any good names come forth. I appreciate your patronage.

Dan’s Personal Blog — Coming Soon!

by DAN CALLOWAY
Published 28 March 2010

WEAVERVILLE, NC – Many of my subscribers have voiced their desires to see a more personal slant to my blogging rather than personal articles that I have written and published in the past.

The readers have spoken and let me know that they want me to express my views, opinions, and insights into a daily blog to be published in its own feature within The Chronicler’s Web.

I am responding to those resounding requests by launching my Personal Blog segment here at The Chronicler’s Web in the next few days. Please look for this added feature on TCW and subscribe to the RSS Feed.

I hope that the introduction of my personal blog to this website will be what my readers have asked for and that this new feature will be both enjoyable and enlightening.

If you have any requests for information that you would like to see in my personal blog, please leave a comment here in this article or email me. Another alternative is to use the Contact Me form to submit your comments or inquiries. And, finally, I’m experimenting with a “Live Chat” interface located on the sidebar that will allow you to conduct a live chat session with me over the Internet. This is currently offline, but if you click on the Email Us button, you can use that interface to send me an email as well.

“Thank you” to my subscribers. I promise to keep listening if you promise to keep visiting and reading my articles on TCW.

CLARKSBURG, WV – The online hometown newspaper, The Clarksburg Post-Intelligencer, publishes informative articles about the life and times of Clarksburg, a small but bustling town steeped in a rich history dating back to 1785.  Clarksburg was named after General George Rogers Clark, the highest ranking military officer in the Northwestern Territory during the American Revolution.  It is also the birthplace in 1824 of Thomas J “Stonewall” Jackson.   During the Civil War, the town served as a supply depot of the Union Army from 1861 to 1865. General George B. McClellan also had his headquarters in Clarksburg in 1861 until the Battle of Bull Run.  A town nestled in the hills of North Central West Virginia, Clarksburg is a town Donald fell in love with the first time he came to Clarksburg in 1989.

This informative online newspaper, produced by Donald Calloway, a long-time resident of Clarksburg, WV, uses this venue to report about the latest current events and happenings surrounding his hometown area. In addition to providing informative information about his home town, he also blogs about current national, world and political events placing a lot of emphasis on the world of technology, science, physics and mathematics, all subjects he loves to talk about.

Donald Calloway is a retired US Navy Lieutenant Commander who resides in Clarksburg, WV with his wife LaChita. Don has been working as a career Supervisor for Economic Services for the WV Department of Health and Human Resources since 1996.

Don’s Navy career included shipboard tours as Asst. Stores Officer onboard the U.S.S. Nimitz (CVN-68), Commissioning Supply Officer onboard the U.S.S. McClusky (FFG-41) and Logistics Officer onboard the U.S.S. America (CV-66).  He served for three years as Fiscal Officer on the Staff of Commander, Fleet Air, Western Pacific (COMFAIRWESTPAC,) Atsugi, Japan, Pre-Commissioning and Outfitting Officer for Fitting-Out Supply Systems Assistance Center (FOSSAC) Norfolk, VA,  Assistant Contracting Officer with Defense Contracting Management Area Operations (DCMAO) Reading, PA and Deputy Quality Assurance Director with DCMAO Hartfort, CN.

Donald received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the Univ. of NC at Asheville (1975), graduated as Supply Officer from the US Navy Supply Corps School in Athens, GA. (1977), and received his master’s degree in Mathematics from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Graduate School, Kutztown, PA. (1994).

I encourage you to visit and subscribe to this online newspaper and follow the articles published there on a regular basis. I believe that you will find it most informative and
thought-provoking.

cityofashevilleWEAVERVILLE, NC – The Chronicler’s Web has been in transition ever since it launched several months ago.  We started out with a basic WordPress site, and that was good enough for us until we began to build our blogsite’s following.

Now, The Chronicler’s Web has over 25 subscribers who depend on the site for the latest in news and events of interest in the world of current events, technology, music, and much more.

As a result of this loyal following, we are in the process of converting the blogsite into a more professional venue.  Our goal, at the Chronicler’s Web, is to have the site look somewhat like WhiteHouse.gov, which we believe is a very professional looking website with a homepage not directly connected to blogging.  No, we’re not giving up blogging, we’re just moving it off the frontpage or homepage and placing it on another page for posts only.

Keep watching over the next several weeks as we transition.  As always, if you have any comments or feedback that you want to give us regarding content, appearance, or usability on The Chronicler’s Web, please drop me a line at inquiries@dancalloway.com.

Thank you for your continued support, and tell all your friends, coworkers, and family members about us.
